I call them the big three: BLowe's, Home Despot, and Man-nards... Insert joke here about some of you liking Man-nards best.
Can't say as I blame them for trying to sell the stuff but doubt if they sell much. However, it appears the gas stations do sell quite a bit so who knows?
Depending on where you go yeah. The more towards areas that have parks or camp grounds you get that type of thing. I just wanna meet someone who gloats about buying shrink wrapped wood from safeway which is pooplar and one twig of pine and tell me they burn the finest oak in all. Imagine the chagrin on their face if I had to spoil their fun.
I sometimes wonder what percentage it might be for folks who have no idea what type of wood it is that they are buying. I also laugh when we used to camp a lot and people just did not know and would see some wood down along a road and pick it up only to find it would not burn.
Hope you stayed away from that smoky of a fire if anything conjured up. Makes me wonder that percentage too. People can be gullible but often considered the lesser informed. Its often folks who dont want to mess with their car and load wood into it freshly cut or anything like that for that matter. I dont mind it a bit. Well to each their own, some learn fast some learn slower, and some...dont...
OK lets look at this from another angle ........................ The farmer raises a cow, sells it to the grocery chain, who then cuts it up into little pieces, puts it in little plastic packages steaks at 20 bucks a pound Farmer walks into grocery store Farmer says who would pay 20 bucks a pound for this meat in a plastic bag..... do you raise your own food? supply and demand
It's no worse than those portable campfire logs that you can buy just about anywhere.... Light 'n Go Bonfire Jumbo Log-506460 - The Home Depot
I saw those too. Haha Im seeing less wood in one round and its got the bark all polished off. Jeeze I remember the picture you posted of a birch round as a chair. 300 simoleons!
