Nope not a problem AFAIK. There's a few rules about advertising, But we aren't working for them so it doesn't apply.
Seems we are only seeing PA stock lately. I have not heard of anyone getting CA stuff. Its been a couple a seasons since I've seen any CA stuff for that matter.
I have not cut open the plastic on my 7 tons of Nature's Own. (Sitting outside in pig overflow) Came from Lowe's Epping, NH and Lowe's Rochester, NH. But at the same time, I purchased an individual bag from Epping, NH; it is a Product of Canada. I wrote down on the information; I am looking at it right now. When I am home tonight, I will write down the UPC.
Not that it needs to make sense, but it is a 6 hr drive from here in Augusta ME. to Montreal, and it is a 10.5 hr drive to Mifflintown, PA 17059-0.
Thanks Save. Here is the bottom of a bag of firesides. The UPC is only different by 2 digits. Now we just need to get a UPC for one of the Made in America Nature's Own bags.
At least we know there's both out and about. Makes sense, Both mills serve NE! AFAIK this is the only bagged product both mills market that shares the same bag. But at least they tell us clearly where they are made............ Mine are USA made UPC 777220501005
135 bags ........... 2.7 tons Pres-to-Logs. Burned a few bags, ashy but decent heat. For the price no complaints.
He was referring to the two bags of Natures Own. Product of Canada and Product Of America have same UPC.
Interesting! I'll open the skid of Nature's Own in my garage and post up the UPC info. Do they tag the bag like other pellet makers with the plan origin? Those are always fun to try to read. You sometimes need a jeweler's loupe!
I'll blame it on the brewski's and old age confusion! Edit: This should clear the confusion tt was correct in the UPC code being the same .......... savemoneys NO CA UPC zoomed in shows 777220501005 My NO USA UPC shows 777220501005
Folks, When I got home last night, I read the UPC from my Nature's Own, Product of Canada 7 77220 50100 5 This is the same as what Jay posted above. This morning, I to tried calling both Energex Canada and Energex PA. No answer. I suppose both are closed for the Good Friday holiday. I will talk to Energex next week about this putting two different products in the nearly same bag with the same UPC, but differentiating only by the required legal labeling of country of origin. I am not completely happy with Energex. I need to provide some more explanation. What I am not completely happy about Energex is the confusing game of what product they put in bags. I think I have been lucky. My 7 tons of Nature's Own is Product of Canada, hence 60% softwood.
When reading bar codes for country of origin, Canada and the USA have the same ID. read: How to Determine Country of Origin From Barcodes | eHow
I wasn't happy with them for 3 years, but then I changed my stove to a Harman. Now these may be different. Anyway, I am burning them now and so far everything is just fine. Try a few of your bags and see if you still have the same concerns. Sometimes things change from year to year. Good luck. At $99 a ton, the only thing I have to say is "thank you, thank you, thank you"
