B.Brown, are yall still having fires and dry weather? wildwest, what's the status of "your fire" now? Just watched a short vid on weather channel of some firefighters in CO having to wait out the winds before they could work. I didnt hear them say what speed, but a couple of them were wavering the winds were so stiff. I've fought fire with 60 mph gusts, it ain't no fun, and I believe the winds in the vid were higher than that and seemed to be sustained not gusts. Let me rephrase....I have been on a fire and attempted to fight fire with 60 mph gusts....
Hi there, they are having a lot of success on my fire Holding at 176,000 acres, Up to 72% containment as of this morning, and finally as of this morning, a fire line on the risky section between the fire and my house I saw that clip too, that's the fire by my previous home, I could not imagine being in all the heat and smoke with that wind God Bless you and our Firefighters!!! We had 75 mph gusts up here a few days, guessing that was the same days the clip was taken, they were almost as high down there. I was relieved and thrilled our firelines held those couple days. All it takes is one ember from crowning trees to blow away and boom, another fire.
To add, the mandatory evactuation at my previous home have been down graded to pre-evac (they call it voluntary in colo). Yes!!!
