Is your area due for any rain? It's been a very dry summer and fall here but we do have some rain in the forecast but nothing that will really help out.

No rain, but 50's today and tomorrow, wind staying under 25 mph, hope they get a leg up on containment.

Our mandatory evac was lifted :) And they did not need to shut down the power lines, phew! Last time we lost 2 fridges and a chest freezer not to mention contents. Still packed up and ready to go, will unpack Tues night or Wed if the situation still looks good, tired of digging things out like meds etc., and repacking them again, but not quite ready.

Today they added two small super scoopers dipping from a reservoir west of us, and today a giant 2 prop tank belly heli has been refilling from our lake. It's very cool, they hover above the water and let down a hose to refill.

Still on prevac order, the wind (low) is blowing away from us, but a bit nervous. Though it's breath taking watching the planes dip every 15 minutes I wonder what's happened since they need 6. Yes, SIX super scoopers, 4 small and 2 bombers.

I'm glad you can stay put. It must be really frustrating not knowing what's going on with the fire.

It is, spooky more than frustrating. My truck after being parked most the summer suddenly started leaking tranny fluid when he pulled it into the garage (mine has the 5th wheel hitch for our trailer). He traded his truck (ball hitch) with another guy at work with a 5th wheel hitch but traded back today because we need water for the house and our tank sits in his work truck. So, it better not turn north!!

I think it's coming my way, orange sky and very hazy this afternoon. Definite smoke smell.

Thanks but I'm good. I'm about 160 miles due south of that fire.

I'm 11 from the east tail and less than 10 from the middle behind the hogback mountain behind me. I just cannot imagine it will make it up and over sheep mountain.

but smoke sucks, I could finally taste today, coffee was the best to taste again. And no more funky vertigo dreams from clogged sinus and eustachian tube crap.
