I am. Now it'll bug me sitting there. Soon as the cool hits, we'll break out the splitter. In the mean time, I'm going to make a sign. Lol!
So to follow up on the stumps. Got the call and went over to see what was salvageable Monday. There were a few easy ones so I let Andy run the saw. After about 3/4 of a trailer load, I noticed a spark from the chain. Had him check and fill the oil tank just in case. Well it definitely wasn't lack of erl! All the left side cutters were hammered. We put our tails between our legs and left the rest.
Can't "like" your post! I spent quite a bit of time getting it back. But to be honest, I can't be too mad. I got probably 6 cord outta there for free. Can't wait to get it all processed and figure exactly how much it is.
Lots of dirt on that wood, no? Could you have waited until after a rain or would it have been gone? Oh well, small price to pay for 6 cord!
He wanted me outta there by this past Saturday due to archery season hunting. And agreed, very small price.
Yep, that's not bad at all, plus while it took you some time to fix the chain, it's still usable now.
Yes! I found one free on craigs so I cut the sides to fit in the trailer. We just throw stuff in there and it does a good job protecting. Also keeps the wood dry and out of the sun.
Alright firewood friends. Started processing this hoard today. I got three trailer loads split and stacked. I was by myself but tomorrow I’ll have my son here to help. This crap of it getting dark around 4/430 stinks! Sun played peekaboo but was mostly hidden. Here are some pics. Pre game warm up - lol! Load one: Mostly hickory with some red and white oak mixed in for good measure.
Then I mistakenly grabbed this round: Yep, this was the elm I was asking about earlier in this thread. One and done fellas. If anyone wants a whole trees worth, it’s free...
If I was your neighbor I would take that elm off your hands in a heart beat. I know how it splits but I love the way it burns in my cat stove.
