    The gas burner effect doesn't last very long in my Republic

    When I was at my daughter's house running her answer I only saw the gas burner effect for about 2 minutes right before I had to dial it down

    That makes me feel better; Thanks HD! Regardless, I'm really liking the added control offered with the pipe damper. Now just to teach the rest of the family!

    Got at least 40 seconds of near gas burner affect! Actually this went on for a good long while. The key last night was to get the wood good and charred while dialing the air and pipe damper then at the precise right time, close the pipe damper all the way as well as the air control all the way and then back in a "bump". Boom, rolling flamage. Not only did this go on for a while but the whole load lasted really well.
