We got one sides trailing arm off, and we can disconnect the rear axle from the driveshaft. The other side was being a pita. We might have to cut bolts and get new ones.

I put a new rear drive unit in my Grizz last week...was expecting a fight but wasn't really that bad...someone welded the mounts at one point in the past and didn't get things lined up perfect...had to fight that a bit...added PITA factor working on the floor with my tool box in the other garage...a job like that at the shop with the bike up on the lift and all tools at arms length would make for a much easier/faster job for sure!

I'm late to this thread and looked back through it. Love those Audis. We have 2 of that body style, a 99 and 04 A6 Avant Quatro. Nice rides, even have great stereos in them... LOL

They even have one on the BBC show As Time Goes By.

Sorry to hear about broke stuff.

    Closer....

Now if we could just get either the front or the rear bolt off the right control arm... Then the whole axle can go as far as it can out of the way to replace the rear seal. 20200512_135603.jpg
The outer boot was shot. It was ripped in many places. When the rear engine seal went, it allowed all engine oil to puke out of the ripped outer seal. From the top.

Here's the reason it was louder than stock. Lol. It isn't annoying, just louder

Eh, you work this stuff like this, and you break stuff. The bayou is almost 30 yrs old.

Here's the super rare 4.2 40 valve v8 Audi allroad. Only 800 ever made over 2 years only.
