    J rider, is that a 32” or 36” bar?

Your New 390XP should pull and oil either just fine, I run a 36”, .404, .063 on mine and it pulls and oils it very well.

The 390XP should be an Excellent fit for how you are using it, and it is a Dayumed FINE saw all the way around, it should make you SMILE :D

The shorts thing, well I HOPE that you rethink proper PPE, yeah I used to be in the “It Won’t Happen to ME “ Club, Fortunately, it DIDN’T Happen to ME, but came a Schitt Load closer than I liked, and made Me see the light

I got Dayumed LUCKY, I was cutting on a hillside, and my footing wasn’t as solid as I thought it was. That didn’t touch skin, didn’t leave a mark, physically anyway, but it sure left a lasting impression Mentally, I now have and USE chaps.

Where this happened was about 8 miles up a Forest Circus road, and still several more miles to cell service after getting to the main highway.
If that had been a worst case scenario, it could easily have been “Game Over” for Huskyman. My Brother in Law is a Fireman/Paramedic, and he built a Very Complete First Aid Kit for my Birthday, that Definitely goes wood cutting with us, but that easily could have been more than the Wife and I could have dealt with, before Help arrived. It sounds like you’re in a place where you can call for help a lot faster than I could have, but that doesn’t change the fact that a chainsaw can do incredible damage to a body, in the blink of an eye, where even the 3-5 minutes waiting for Emergency Medical, can be Too Much Time.

Think about it, I don’t want to read about you in the newspaper, or on here

Enjoy that New 390XP, and STAY SAFE

    Doug

That’s a 24” bar and is the bar I will primarily run. I do have a 36” for it as well

That looked longer than a 24”, guess I need a little more Coffee :coffee:

Please do think about the PPE, things happen so Fast that you just don’t see it coming ;)

Either you have a small counter or big saw.

The 390XP with a 34" bar had no problems with this log !

This is what I introduced the new saw to and it gobbled it up

That’s a lot of splits and some impressively sized wood. Splits add up quick with a couple of those rounds!
