I think the only ones would be from BK or from folks who simply do not know how to properly run a stove or burn wood that is not dry enough.

Yeah, the Blaze kings are well known for dirty glass when they are burned in the 24+ hour burn mode but they do clean up nicely if you have them set for an 8-12 hour burn.

My Keystone occasionally gets some blackness on the sides if I turn it down too much too soon but mostly it stays clean. It also heats my 1200 sq ft nicely with 2 or 3 loads per day.

Wow thanks for all the responses. The looks of the stove aren't as important as how it heats and how long it heats. But as far as looks are concerned I would like something rustic. Flat black in color is just fine. The overnight burns are important. Also I work long hours so a long burn time is key. 8-12 hour burn would be preferred. Thanks for all the advice. I'm going to start looking around online and locally. I'll post info I gather to see what you guys think.

with dry wood, and when run correctly any 2+ cu ft EPA stove should get you the burn times you seek. Mine is a 2.2cu ft secondary type, and with any of the higher BTU species I am getting 12+ hr burn times.

I have never had glass on a woodstove before now, frankly the flames in our new pellet stove still startle me at times.... I don't know if they still make stoves without glass, but that is definately a rustic look.

My parents purchased a Soap Stone II sometime in the 80's. I owned that stove until last year. In the summer of 2013 I replaced it with a Lennox Country Canyon wood stove. I had my reservations. Going into the process of replacing the wood stove, I swore I'd only go with a another soap stone wood stove. By chance, we have a Lennox Country dealer in town. After doing the bulk of my research, I was pretty close to purchasing a new HearthStone. However; I decided to go listen to the sales guy. An hour later I was sold and ready to purchase a Lennox Country Canyon stove.

After last winter burning semi-dry wood, I can tell you that I love this stove. This year I've burned half a cord of well seasoned wood, and this stove is a performer. I see this stove lasting a long time, and enjoy watching the secondary burn.

I must say I'm a bit surprised that I've not anyone else on here talking about this brand of wood stove.

Jason, I looked up the Lennox, and I gotta say that sure looks a lot like a Pacific Energy, or PE. Which you do hear a lot of folks talk about on hear and they have a great reputation. Not sure if they are the same stove or not. Looks like a nice heater though, stay warm, it's 16'F hear in Mass this morning.

They do look very similar. I've done some research, and from I can tell they are not made by the same company. LOPI, PE and several other brands have similar looking stoves. Which would lend for someone to thing they are manufactured by the same company. The are only some minor differences in the actual stoves. Yes the dimensions are slightly different from company to company. What I am referring to is air intake mechanism and the use of a fan are the only two differences I see.

I'm dialing in my burn as we speak. 20 degrees right now, and working the numbers to see if I could get a wood stove in our living room.

Does Woodstock still have the money back guarantee, kind of a no brainer, the warrantys on the new stoves do not cover performance (only if a defect is found).

I believe they do. I don't have my manual in front of me but I think they do have one.

Agreed, the WS IS is the same way as the BK stoves. When in long burn setup they do tend to create dark fireboxes and soot on the glass, minimal air movement in the box. The cat is still working and the smoke is clean!

Yep, it is on their website: http://www.woodstove.com/our-guarantee

And they pay the return shipping, kind of amazing really. And you don't even have to claim anything is wrong with the stove, merely that you are not delighted according to their web page.

I burned a Pacific Energy Super 27 in my basement for about 7 years. Still have it for back up. Then I went to the gasification boiler for whole house/garage/DHW heating. I really liked the PE Super27. I had a guy who wanted to buy it from me but he didn't want to pay much for it. In that case it is better in my basement for backup!:DStill thinking of moving it to the camp. Or out on our porch so I can "see" a nice fire going. Really miss the glass door and watching the fire. :(
