Saying they only weight 700 pounds is a farse lol. Yeah a quick Google search shows that but if you look they are known to weight 8-900 pounds wet.
You sound like an old school ricer talking about "cams" you do know they only have one camshaft right?

Nope, not old school. I didn't Google search either, just what I remember. My .02 is based on what I've owned, ridden, or raced. My race quad has two cams, guess my memory was slipping on my old grizz. I'm not popping in here to argue my knowledge, I could care less what you think about any of it.
I'll tell you this, Yamaha didn't reinvent the wheel with the grizzly, and if you think Polaris got to where they are by selling junk, you need your head checked.

Btw, show me all these new Hondas that are selling for less than these second hand grizzlies. Keep it apples to apples too, maybe I can learn something from you.

*You might want to correct Yamaha of their wet weight spec error on their 700 grizz, I just figured I'd check to see how far I was off. 692lbs. Wet, not too bad for a guess.

Their published numbers are not actual.
If you actually raced you would know this...http://www.grizzlycentral.com/forum...our-grizzly-weigh.html#/topics/7286?_k=56tth0
Maybe you can correct Chevy Ford and dodge on all their weights   I've personally weighed them and had several be waay off.
Yamaha sled weights are different than published (Yamaha-arctic cat same sleds different weights the viper-zr7000 same sled)so are some Polaris, bpr, and arctic cat.
Lots of manufactures do the same.
    keep blowing smoke hoss.
Go on the forums, plenty of posts with weight slips and ACTUAL weights.
Dealers have posts weighing them dry out of the crate.....

When you talk about wrong weights and two cams..., race quads etc it's painfully obvious you are blowing smoke.

How did Polaris get to where they are? Why is Polaris halting production on victory motorcycles:p

Don't care to argue over your "other points":salute: I dont have th e time or patience.

You have your opinions experience as do I. No need to get your feelings hurt over it.:drunk: no need to...:deadhorse:

Sorry I came off as I did, but understand I do not blow smoke. You come in a thread like some kind of tool, and it rubbed me the wrong way. I know the difference between published specs and actual, but you were off and covering your hind end. I thought maybe I was being brash, having a bad evening.. but it seems you consistently post things with some kind of snarky response. I dont know anything about road bikes or sleds, nor did I post anything about either.

What is the popular classified, in your area? Craigslist or Kijiji (sp?) ?
I know you probably aren't in a rush, but between now and early March is a good time to buy. Folks are either paying taxes or waiting on them to get back.

    Those are great quads too.

Like my even smaller 300 bayou, the size of the motor doesn't dictate the amount of work it can do.

The smaller cc older machines like ours are also physically smaller and weigh less too, so they have a better power to weight ratio than just looking at outright HP numbers would tell you. Also, a manual transmission like what we have, auto or regular clutch, is more efficient than CVT or auto trannies.

The smaller size quads are great for manuevering between trees too.

Mostly kijiji. I'ce been looking. There are some decent options. But as it turns out, I might have an unexpected bill coming up which will have to come out of my "toys" budget.

My Father in-law had the old 220 Bayou, we still have it. He bought it new in 96, still chugging along!

Good call on passing on that. If you don't know, go to youtube and look up soggy bottom boys and watch one or any of the related videos!!

I agree anything Japanese in the 400 to 500 size will do what you want. The larger quads are crazy big, like almost impossible to put in a truck. Pull 6000 pound trailers and go 80mph?

I have an old 300 trx honda. It's a 1989 model. The only thing that would come in handy would be 4wd. And that's only for pulling trailers on side hills or up steep hills. The 2nd goes through all kinds of mud and terrain, and I can still ride 2 people on it comfy, esp a child.

You can buy a nice quad for 2k. Heck, my well used 300 bayou was 1k, and that's the bottom of what a 4x4 quad will go for. Because I had first hand experience with the exact same model when it was new back when I was in high school, I knew that it was a well built machine. So I knew that while the machine I was looking at was well used, I knew it could provide a lot of work for me, as well as holding its value, at bare minimum.

I have an older Yamaha Wolverine. I'd stay away from that model. It's geared too high for pulling heavy loads.
