yea, a dealer can actually usually research the serial number as well, and at a minimum, get a date of manufacture on the unit. As for a one month warranty? What use is THAT? We are heading into Spring, not much use there.....I'd be looking for a warranty for next season, especially at the price those two are. Maybe there IS some wiggle room at $2850...especially if you have the cash in hand.

Looking at the pics, this thing has been reworked. Which is good. But there are no pics of the mechanicals. Its got a steel fuel door, so its not a really recent Advance...they now have glass fuel doors, and have had for some time. Id be curious to see what it looks like with the rear shields off....might tell us if any motors or fans have been replaced. Probably a chain drive unit. Check sprockets....are they sharp? If so, they are worn/worn out. Now, if whover repainted this thing did replace dist fan, comb fan, sprockets, feed motor support frame, feed motor, AND the feeder weldment isnt totally worn out, might be worth $2500 or so...

That was my thoughts exactly. Well my dealer Is calling halifax tomorrow. If he finds an advance still in stock im probably just going to pull the trigger. Its a harman, we love burning pellets, and we have the money. I think its a good move personally

Good way to go......likely they have a few......just my least favorite given the issues I alluded to earlier. I do get it that your other half likes it though, and it, being a Harmab, will solve all your issues, not the least of which is all of your sexual desires....albeit indirectly.

    Hello,
I have an Advance 2 serial # 009428 and i contacted a dealer and their first question was "Did You Buy it here?" i said no so they fumbled around and said they could'nt find that serial #. All they told me which i already knew was they stopped manufacturing that model in 2016.
I called to harman and they just bounced me back to a dealer, so what i'm hoping is somebody has the same model with a close serial # and has a valid date of manufacture.
Thx in advance for taking the time to read about my issue

So, the above posts are over 7 years old. I did look in our own database on HHT's dealer site, but that serial number didn't come up for me. I suspect it's only going to come up for whomever the selling dealer originally was, which wasn't us, and possibly not the dealer who you spoke with before.

As for date of manufacture, is it really all that important? It's a later Advance, as it's an Advance 2, parts are still available, and no Advances out there today are still covered under warrantee, as it's been that long since they were produced.

I guess as long as parts are available, i guess its not a big deal. I thought it was easy to get the manufactured date from the serial #, but i guess its a Harman secret.
    Thx again

its not a secret for the original selling dealer, because they can simply look it up online. Unfortunately, if you dont know who that is, it could prove difficult. And yes, Harman could look it up.

Yup, you can still get parts!
