    = variable pot as mentioned

The additional switch just doesnt make sense to me and allows for more possible issues. Sometimes KISS is in order

no, I actually enjoy the cold! Lets see......spent the day getting two diesels started because the drivers didnt feel like filling the tanks, so, condensation = water in fuel - gelled lines and filters. Oh, and one driver didnt think to use diesel additive (I like Howe's....keep it here for that reason...thats right, I have it here......he didnt use it)......then moffett had a dead flat, weight of the machine + cold = ruined tire......had to get THAT fixed......pretty much the whole day.....630-4.........and yup...warm island in April.....Guadeloupe! cant wait!

yea, totally different animal bogie! the older XXV and Accentra F/S had both the dial you're thinking of AND the HI/LOW switch. Definitely not user-added.

totally agree....I believe the reason its there is way back when someone decided to give the user more control over how much noise the unit made (and of course, how fast the dist fan ran).......the problem with this is the user uses LOW to keep the stove quiet so they can watch "Dancing with the stars", and then cant figure out why the stove doesnt seem to be heating as well......."send a tech out!! Something is wrong!".........and they don't pay the bill when they see their error. Problem is, there is a very similar setting in the current TC units....."WHISPER" mode...........ugh

Good thing I wasn't their boss....they'd be looking to fix their own problems or be looking for new employment. I have no tolerance for the "I don't give a sh*t" attitude and/or laziness, especially when you're getting paid to do it.

all well and good fixing their own problems, but what about the work which needs to get done today? Very tough to replace people these days! Im pretty vocal....people know I am displeased....and why the consider me an a-hole.

It's a bit more coin, but the Toro Powermax 724 OE we picked up @ Homey D a season ago has been -excellent-. * As long as you run it dry @ end-of-season, no carb issues. Starts 1st pull at -15 below, throws white chit 40+ feet, chugs & chews through most anything. .. I don't think they sell the 724 anymore - it looks like the 824 OE is the new base model.

I ended up buying a virtual clone of mine. A 2008 Ariens 824E. Owned by a little old lady....really. Woman moved to a condo and didn't need it. Just serviced this spring and not used. $300. I'm going to surprise my daughter tomorrow morning. I told her I had a sure fix for old snowblower.

By the way, stove related. I got my adapter today. The big move will be tomorrow afternoon into Wednesday. Supposed to be near 60. I plugged it in tonight and turned it to on. 5 minutes later it was running. I am psyched!

X2 LW. I too put up with more than I use to for the same reasons. Good luck trying to replace good workers

Although I have always had the "sometimes chit happens" outlook, what I dont stand for is not being told about it happening from the proper peolple. If I hear it from above (the owner) before from below, it doesnt go as well for the offender. Nothing worse than the owner asking what happened and you dont even know about it yet

I haven't worked for an owner in quite some time :D. The disturbing thing is GOOD workers are pretty hard to find. Of course, we all define "good" in different ways, with different yardsticks. Everyone thinks they are a GOOD worker, regardless of whether they are or not. Some might say it comes down to the owner, the buck stops here kinda thing......and theoretically they would be correct. But realistically its another matter. Depending on how large your organization is, one person simply cant be on top of everything. Cant be delivering product and "being there" for people, cant meet with salesmen if you're trying to get a truck started, etc. You all get the picture, I'm sure. Pay them more? You don't get a better employee by throwing money at them.....work ethic is instilled long before you ever go to work.

Yup, I go away for vacation in April. Mostly for sanities' sake. I work weekends and most holidays.....we are literally closed 8 days per year, including weekends.

    Let the firestorm begin!

Done. I was able to free up the adjustable section of pipe so I only needed a 12 inch section. No 45 elbow. The pipe is a little crooked but good enough for now. No leaks either. So far the stove has started and stopped once on it's own. I will have to get used to this machine!

Looks great - now you just have to paint that 12" piece to match the rest.

That is a really nice looking stove!

Thanks. I figured I would run it a few days to make sure I have no leaks. My luck, I would paint it and there would be a leak...right there.

I'm now trying to learn how to run it best. I had it in Room Temp set at 68. It's stopped and re-lighted itself three times this afternoon. No big deal if that's how I want to run it. Just now I switched to Stove Temp. I want a low flame so I'm playing with the feed and Stove Temp. I have my digital thermometer sitting on top so I can monitor the temp...which is totally dependent on fan speed. Lots to learn!

I usually run my stoves of room temp (P43 is hooked to a thermostat in another room to keep the main floor comfortable) and reserve stove temp for those days when it is really, really cold, or the winds are howling. Course I have a small house so stove temp can over heat the house in milder temps and send a lot of heat out the exhaust - which is a waste of pellets. But each circumstance is different and plenty of people keep their stove's on stove temp most of the season.

    Have fun experimenting!
