    You can work on old tech yourself. I have a Stihl concrete saw sitting in my garage right now that I got for free because the fuel injection quite working on it and the owner could not find anybody to repair it. You have to be able to interface a computer with a Stihl program in it to trouble shoot and to reprogram the saw if you install new parts for the repair.

    Just another thing to consider when buying new technology. Make sure there is someone around who can fix it.

    I will concur with you on that. My stihl repair guy said the concrete saws were a PITA to work on. They do take a crapload of abuse compared to a chainsaw though.
