Let the stove do its work, and you will find it runs along very well on most any pellet. I found running in on the thermostat at room temp caused the stove to cycle on and off a lot, but that also cause a lot of hot initial fires that burn clean. I can always see through the glass, not clean but I can see into the fire. When I open it up and do a brush and vac about once a month, the normal speed bump in the fire pot is just a little and very brittle. If I run on stove temp. It run on low and more dirty. I have the p68 and it wants to crank out the heat. Doesn't seem to mind what I feed it. I got a lot of advice to switch out stoves every time I kept complaining about this and that with my other stove. The price scared me. Finally, I made the jump. Happy every day for that move.
