I’ve looked at this for quite a while and wondered how well it would work, especially for moving rounds.
I got several different styles of log tongs and yet to find one that works as well as this one does. It easily latched on to Alder rounds and different sized splits. Some of the others I have tried would slip on the thin smooth Alder bark.

I was able to find a new in the box LogOx on the local Marketplace for a very good price and decided to give it a try. It is the upgraded version with the wider stand and handle.

Always fun to try out a new firewood gadget.

You certainly love your wood hoarding toys.

The first time I used log tongs were the ones that came with the log ox.

Have one. I use it mostly when I have just larger than goldilocks rounds to get them onto the splitter beam. Very specific usage for me. It's too much tool for small rounds, big rounds get busted with maul before going on splitter. I use my Husky tongs more. I think it's a good tool, I just haven't found a lot of usage in my own arena.

I find it pretty heavy for normal carrying of rounds. It does have a decent grip and I sometimes use it to get extra leverage to roll large logs to finish my cut without burying my chain in the dirt.
