After burning nearly a ton (10 bags left) they are great for heat and ash but they are a very small pellet and they load very quickly at least in my stoves, so you go through them very quickly. They are working great mixed with longer pellets (Northern Max or NW DF) along with some Matra's which are somewhat sticky but not to bad.
Thought I would grab a bunch as I have heard they go for a great price in the spring but they just load / burn to dang quick and I would be going through many tons of them to heat my house, still considering getting some but would have to mix which is extra time and that I do not have any extra and will not for the next year.

I could me mistaken but usually a super premium pellet are short and hardly any long ones. What gets me is the Harman is going through them at a faster pace, theory is the hotter they are, the slower the feed will be. But some say otherwise

I've found that to be the case with LaCretes. It seemed no matter what the temp I was burning 2 bags a day. I recently bought 15 bags of Platinums. The pellets are much longer than the Lacrete. My usage dropped noticeably. I plan on buying 15 more tomorrow.

I can see the longer pellets are not feeding the auger as much which would indicate less pellets = less btu's meaning more feed to compensate the reduced heat call out. Or it could be the Platinum's have more btu's at pound to pound!
Theory, higher btu pellet equals less needed for a specific heat requirement than a lower btu pellet, longer or shorter as no bearing on the btu value. But some have different feedback to this theory which is puzzling.

Luney, do a little experiment. With whatever Logik-E Softies you have left, turn down your feed rate. If you are ay 4, turn it down to 3 or 2.5. Your instinct will be to say no way, if I turn down the feed rate, that means less fuel feeding and less heat coming out of the stove. Throw caution to the wind and just try it, you may be pleasantly surprised.

I had thought the same but was proven wrong and after 40 bags its been pretty concrete evidence in my experience . Wish I was right as I would love to grab a bunch of them in the spring, Ill try TT suggestion and see how it goes .

I agree. I believe the LaCrete are rated at a slightly higher BTU so in theory I would use less but that isn't what I seeing.
