I need a set of log tongs. I've heard that the imported ones bend so I want a set of American tongs. Who makes a good set? I'm guessing the ones with a swivel are better? Where is a good place to by them?

Those do look really nice. They are a bit more than I want pay for a set, because they are rated for lifting. They are also out of stock and I would like to have my set by Friday so I could use them Saturday.

That's what I was going to recommend. Columbus McKinnon nowdays, but was once made under the name of Dixie Industries. Good stuff. Cant hooks, peaveys, all manner of hookaroons, and a multitude of logging tools and fittings.

I got mine from Northern China tool. The biggest one that they had 10 year's or so ago. Put some nasty tugs on them and no issues so far.

You have a set of Columbus Mckinnon/ Dixie log tongs? I could possibly use another set, if the price is right.

Have you ever heard of the "Pinch A Log". Its an tool that eliminates most deep bending because of its design. It's a solid tool made in the USA. It has several videos on Youtube. It has been around for several years and is gaining in popularity. It is also being made in Germany for the European and Australian market. Their are several videos in German on Youtube. I recommend the tool because it really works! I have arthritis in my hips and back and now I can still handle firewood without deep bending...Dan
