    Great post.

Super split is actually out of Massachusetts. I talked to Paul the owner the day I picked mine up for quite a while. He said the patent did run out in 2008-2010 era. That's when the copycats like the Speeco and the DR came out and tried to pass them off as a new idea. LOL. Many got recalled due to safety reasons. The rack having teeth break or shear off seemed to be a common problem. Many also required two hands to engage the rack which was a bad idea despite seeming "safer".

Despite all this Paul liked them making copies because it opened more eyes in general to kinetic flywheel splitters and ultimately he got a lot more business. Ive had mine for 10 years and they're awesome machines. I have videos of it in action and of my friends wood yard. He runs a couple Supersplits and a huge processor doing 2000 cords a year. He used a Timberwolf TW5 and a TW6, but sold them both saying they were both not as fast as the Supersplits.

Guess this will be my first post. Just picked this unit up the beginning of the week. My back won't do hand splitting like it used to and don't have a ton to do on a regular basis. Bought used as I didn't want to sink too much money into anything. Was told it was new in 2009, looks almost new to me. Needs a couple little things and I'll be putting it to work once we get past the cold temps we're getting the beginning of the week.

Certainly doesn't appear to have been used very much.

    Beer(moonshine) - check
    Dogs - check
    Pics - covered

Think I might start a thread/review of this splitter which is identical to the Ariens, and looks very much like the Yardmax, Craftsman(defunct), and a few Chicom knock-offs. It seems well built for homeowner or very light landscaper use.

Also looks like I should take some pictures of my fleet and get them on the chainsaw thread.

I bought it at an estate that is in process of being sold. I was told about a cord of wood a year since 2009. I'm finding that hard to believe, but what do I know. I was happy with the price and condition so here we go....

Sadly, looks like I may have to do an upgrade. Not the way to start the year.

If I remember right, this was at her buddies place. Got caught up in one of the wild fires. Lost a barn some tractors, chicken coop and her splitter. Nobody was hurt.
