Stroke limiter works in vertical mode also.
I'm going to make one more mod before I paint it.

Notice I'm using the pipe and plywood trick.
Something I learned here on FHC.:)
I got tired of listening to the pivot pin rattling so I hooked a spring between it and the hold down pin on the tongue.

Found any vibration issues yet, with the limiter guides slipping at all? Looks good…

No slipping or vibration issues at all.
    It works really well.
It has two springs on it, one to hold the trip lever in the home position and one on the collar to keep the push rod from slipping down.
I'm going to add a link from the trip lever to the collar which will eliminate one spring and keep the set screw with wing nut on top.

    Added the link today.
This eliminated the springs and keeps the wing nut on top.
The collar tended to rotate around before.
I also was able to turn the wing nut back around since it can no longer catch on the front of the cylinder.
I love the way this thing works.
I was splitting some crotch pieces left by another cutter that were cut to various lengths.
I was able to easily adjust the stroke to a suitable length .
When finished splitting just loosen the wing nut set screw and let it retract to the fully retracted position.

    Redneck engineering at its finest.;)
The rod is 7/16"diameter 20" long.
I wrapped a piece of sandpaper around the cylinder to contour the bottom of the 1/2: cpvc fittings to match.
Hose clamps are 4 1/2" (just barely long enough, should of gotten 5")
Hose clamps are spaced 3 1/2" center to center (not critical could be longer if the rod was longer).
Just need to add some paint now.
Can't decide whether the paint it black to match the cylinder or red to match the beam.

On my splitter there are four predrilled and taped holes.
They have plastic plugs in them.
