I believe the same company makes the brute and the countyline. I'm loving my countyline.
Don't think you could go wrong with either one really.

True...I've seen some worn out machines on CL that people want $6-800...and when you read the post, they talk about carb needs cleaning...fitting leaking...etc.

That old Brave in my Avatar...I believe my Dad bought it in 82 for $225 on sale from Tractor Supply...still starts on 2nd or 3rd pull. Tires are getting a little iffy now...Not sure how the newer ones hold up though, I would expect them to be pretty good.

Best thing I ever did to that spliter is add a dual wheel/drop leg trailer jack. The dual wheels give it a larger foot print and really do help it from sinking in like the old metal drop leg, also when the jack is down the dual wheels make it much easier to move around by hand...one of the most useful things I have ever bought at Harbor Freight.

I know, 36 years old...better shape than me. Using it and taking care of it remind of times with my Dad seemed like CSS was a weekend past time for us for a lot of years...miss that an miss him...he always said if I took care of it then it would last 50 years...14 years to go...she might just make it.

I’m betting it’s at least partly one! Probably used one to make a new one. I’ll have to ask Nicks father since we got it off him. It ran like a champ I used it a lottt! He built himself a real nice and big splitter that Nick copied to make our new one. Those guys can build or repair anything, it’s awesome  ~Lissa
