    A lot of controversy about using it as mulch. It does repel bugs, good and bad, and can be toxic when used fresh for vegetable and flower plants. If left outside for a few seasons, it isn't bad. Best carrots I ever harvested was in composted horse manure and yellow cedar shavings. The cedar kept the carrot fly away.
