Ive got 2 stihl dealers 1 mile in each direction from my shop I am a Jonsered/Red max,dolmar/makita dealer for 20 years now and all the manufacturers have started making throw away junk the problem is the people want cheap they do not know what they are buying and the advertising machines of the big manufacturers have them thinking there stuff is the best and the average person buys a stihl thinking they are all the same quality and they are not by far the 290 farm boss is a good example of stihl junk yet the 260/261 is a good saw smaller but several hundred dollars more I am not bashing stihl they all do it and independent shops like myself see the results we work on a lot of the poorer quality saws that people buy by name only I usually ask a couple of key questions about what they are going to use the saw for and recommend size and quality on expected use
