Coincident to my pastrami making, a local grocery chain put packers on sale for $2.99/lb. Or about $2.15 in USD.

So I bought a 12 pounder and a 17. The smaller one I will put on the smoker for Father's Day.

The bigger one I will turn the point into more pastrami.

The flat I think will be used mainly for ground beef. Brisket burgers can't be half bad right?

That’s a good price.... I kick myself in the butt for not buying two or three briskets at $2.99 a pound just before the shortage hit. The local grocery store had a meat sell...:headbang::headbang:.... the last week they were up to $5.99/lb

yeah. I’m going to try just brisket. I cut the big one into five groups
Three with enough to grind into burgers, likely with leftover.
One trimmed piece if point for pastrami
One 2-3lb piece of flat for my father in law who wants to smoke some

    Prognosis: brisket burgers are NICE!

Sorry for the pic I just remembered after I had taken a few bites. But you know the saying "pics or it didn't happen"
