I should have said this earlier. Welcome to the club Lincolnland. Nice dogs Lincolnland, is the first dog a blue healer/kelpie cross? He looks like one of my dogs did before he got old. And there is no need to be sorry Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Takes me as long to clean up, if not more, than to cut logs to stove length. But I always clean up in the woods. I target a rock wall or rocky hollow and toss the branches in a tall pile. First, it looks neater (that might be a personal issue), second, it's down to almost nothing in a year or so on its way to compost and lastly it leaves clear access around otherwise spots you wouldn't cross. It is a pain in the arz and takes as much energy to do it as it does to cut and haul for the stove.
I'm with you M2theB, I'll pile it up for the critters to live in. I just don't want to load Brush in a trailer and unload it 100 yards away. Then there is all the raking. Its the season for mowing too, I had to get it cleaned up so the grass would grow.
First dog is my old 17 years, kelpie cross german shepherd. Hes blind and riddled with arthritis but loves getting in my truck, loves the fire and loves getting out wood collecting with me
I didn't snap a pic but Friday after noon I was at a Park and Shop grocery store in Portville ny and when I pulled in there was a silverish colored pickup (maybe Toyota?) that was loaded to the max with 6-8" diameter pole wood probly 4' long pieces and a nice Stihl saw on the top of the load. Didn't get the chance to see who was driving but had to have been someone here!?
