Holy cow. I didn't know they started remaking them. Lol, no wonder it was so shiny. The fan is what threw me. I know people put modern engines in the old ones. Thanks for the link.
Pulled some Elm bones out of the woods, putting the Ranger to the test actually not really as it had an heavy duty off road suspension and handled it quite well.
Do you have independent rear wheel brakes on that like a tractor has? If not, I bet the steering feels light.
No not as far as I can remember but steering did not seem to feel to light at all . Was a serious workhorse between hauling cordwood and building materials it did quite well .
Yessir all bone wood standing dead Elm I pulled from a farmer's sugar bush up the road. I ended up pulling almost 8 cord all split by hand, ended up buying a splitter immediately after that ! Was a nice score ended up heating my house for the that winter burned wicked hot ! Can see she was squatting with the butt load though was a bit heavier, not much but the closer you got to the butt's the heavier it got.
I guess I just assumed when he said "elm bones" that it meant standing dead, which can be pretty dry sometimes! Nice load a farwood for sho!
Yes older pics as I did not have time to cut firewood because of the mental Job's I am working . Still have my beast of a wood stove and will not ever give up cutting firewood its in my blood . Put food on the table for five years both logging and firewood processing long time ago no splitter involved just manpower. Saw an amazing wood burner at Skeeter's with crazy burn times making me rethink the whole heating thing but I am loving this pellet stuff mainly because its so daw gone clean. Still have my saws still have my wood stove all i need now is time ! Thanks
Nice haul! Two things... what years and model is the rig? And second how do you guys load your trucks without window protection and manage not to fill the front seat? Haha my window wouldn't last two rounds loaded!
The Great White Hope is a 1996 1/2 ton Dodge 4X4. The rear window? I guess running lucky is what keeps it in one piece..
Got 2 truck loads like this today at my new cutten spot. Got it all spit and 1 load stacked, got to stack the other load tomorrow. It was a great day to get out, about 45 and sunny. This should get me through the winter. Time to rest and grab an Old Mill light!
