Heck, I'm not sure how well my F250 SD would handle that load!
The "schmutz" falls down between the bed and tailgate on my truck...the hitch frame is buried in it!

Not recommended Brad. You don't want to know what could be under there.

Plastic bed liner so not worried about rust/rot if that's what you are referring to.

Nice load !!! U got a jag on there . Have you thought about maybe getting 3 sheets of subfloor and cutting them to fit ? Don't even need to attach them to anything. Just stack the bottom snug and that will keep the top good. They can fold down and lay flat on the floor of the bed when empty.
At least 1 for a rear window protector.
    Just a thought .
Do you split it all by hand in the woods . That's a Real good mornings work !!!

I'm sure you did! No doubt it's different there than here . But having someone to get help from/with. And time spent doing something with someone else can really help a fella's mood and outlook . I work alone all the time . When I do have someone to work with it's a treat .

Small load yesterday , sold as half cord . But closer to 3/4 than half .
Some old sawlogs I had down at my mill . . Still had wet sapwood . But , the customer was down to 5 rounds of wood and the forecast is for in the 40s below in Delta . Which means it will be in the 50s below or colder here at the homestead.
It will take some judicious splitting to get the dry heart wood . I think this person had gone through all the other sellers of firewood in the area . The computer generation .

Thanks and yes, I really should get a headache rack for the rear window. I do split by hand in the woods but I’m very selective about the trees I cut. The twisted trees with crotches and tons of knots stay right where they are

I think I replaced the back window on my last truck 3-times, once after the headache rack, it nailed it between the top of the bed and the bottom of the headache rack. Gets expensive (even with me doing the labor) after a while and haven't checked prices for this newer 2019.

I have 2 customers that insist on sweeping up and keeping the bed mulch. On my Tacoma there’s mobile ecosystem under the bed mat. I pulled it up today to check on the vivarium. I removed a handful of acorns, so I don’t have Black Oaks sprouting.

Ive had weeds sprouting from mine!!! :emb: Creepy crawlies feasting too. Some good compost I bet.

It dried out several times this year and I wanted to back up to the woods and clean it out, but never happened. Sometimes when frozen I can smack it and chunks come loose. Getting really cold here the rest of the week...maybe I'll give it a shot.

I’m burning white oak right now. Love the stuff. Nice loads of firewood you got there. Several trees or one youve been working on?
