But look at the mileage too. I get ~25 mpg in my 1991 f250, and that's averaged between loaded and unloaded.
A few loads we hauled recently... This one came from a campground expansion, a bit tail heavy, glad the F250 was pulling it... We got 3 loads from 1 yard that had a bunch of blow downs recently...6' and 9' logs on this load Oak and hickory, 9' to 14'... Mostly 12' Oak, our neighbor, Fredrick was a big help. A tad warm last Wed...monkey tried to jump on me...
It was supposed to be a deal where a tree service was coming to clean it up a day or so later. We were mostly in the shade, but no breeze. That pic was going down the road. Tree folks never came
This was our 2nd load yesterday, willow oak... Even loaded heavy on the axles/back, it wouldn't dump, had to get pry bar on the front to get it started...... Wish we could have weighed it, it's dumped 10K before.
That's why I like telescopic dumps, like they make dump trucks. I have yet to see one not dump. I bought a telescopic cylinder for my truck before I built the wood bed....can't use it now unless I build a steel bed or redesign the one I have. I might use it to build a dump trailer.
Yep, I recently saw some dump trailer with telescopic cylinders. I hadn't seen any when we got ours in 2018. Our trailer is rated for 10k......I think that means gross......
Got lucky today. I saw a downed tree on the main drag through town. Luckily nobody had noticed it yet. I thought I was missing a round. Looked under the truck and found this one. It would have done been a very bad day had I not removed it. Loaded just enough to make the trip worth it and not so much that the ride home was sketchy.
