90% red oak with the rest being white and chestnut oak, out for delivery to last weekend’s customer. Short splits for north-south loading.

I got back out to the woods to cut up some more blow downs after a few weeks off.

First load was 2/3 ash and 1/3 what I think is some sort of hickory. I was surprised to see we still have some standing dead ash trees. There can't be many left at this point.

    Hickory??

I came back for a second load of the hickory(?) and brought a helper...

I got about half a truckload on the second trip.

Out again today. Mostly hemlock with a little alder. Hemlock is my least favorite but it's what was available.

I'm not sure why, but I've had good hemlock and I've had hemlock that burned like crap. It is plentiful though as they like to tip over in storms and FS permits only allow cutting trees that are down.

I can join in again, now that I have a new bed on my truck....

Spruce, that will be turned into fence pickets.

If its been down on the ground for more than a couple of years it does not burn as good as a new windfall !.

Grabbed a load of maple and oak today. The new bed works great. Just over a cord on this load.

LOL not all, maybe half. I’m learning to not get too attached to the wood I hoard. ;) Now that I’m a small time seller, pretty much everything is potentially for sale.
