The help would be appreciated but it is a bit of a drive. As far as getting in the way, I don’t think that would be an issue.
It blows my mind the amount of high quality, easy access roadside scrounging available in Connecticut.
There’s a lot, but we do have to be in the right place at the right time. The dead ash “honey hole” I’ve been working is a long, dead-end dirt road seldom traveled. There are a handful of residential homes at the end, and more than once while cutting there a neighbor stops by to thank me for cleaning up the roadside. The tree crews cut down the hazardous ones close to the road, and leave the log sections for the taking. In general though I have to travel for a while before stumbling across a score I can work. Brad has a good deal going following Asplundh around and asking permission as he goes.
A load of red maple rounds slated for my coworker who just bought an insert. I’ll be selling him several loads of rounds for a mutually agreed upon price.
My coworker got his insert installed today so he sent me a picture of it going with the yellow birch I sold him. He’s thrilled, and I’m happy for him.
Nice score!!! Nice truck!!! Nice Saw!!! I'm assuming the XS362 caused all that clutter to fall into your truck...
Yes XS362, thanks! Ran two tanks through it. Had wind storms a few days ago and the gettin is good. I pulled the cord to the saw on my second trip and down came the rain, I wasn’t headed home empty handed.
Not cutting wood today. Picked up a load of rib-eye feed for the future steaks... Turning 600 pounders into 1400 pounders... I'm getting hungry...
Just a load of sawmill scrap I took to my kids school for their WinterFest bonfire last Saturday....despite the 64 degrees and sun.
