I posted wood loaded pics. Here is one from a few years back (landscaping would almost the sky behind the truck now). Here is a Ton of pellets in a half ton truck Do not try this at home. (It really wasnt bad, if I had an 8ft bed, I would have maybe gone for 2 ton ). I only had to go about 10 miles.
That was my 1986 J-20 3/4 ton. I bought with that paint job. Worked it and drove it as a daily driver for almost two years then sold it so I could get my next truck.
Sweet. Mines an '87 previously owned by a fire company. I got it two years ago with 36k miles. That truck does everything i ask it to do and squats less than my f-250 with the same load. Love that truck. Bed is a few inches lower than most trucks so its nice for loading. And still had highest ground clearance of comparable trucks of that era. Great truck. Currently needs floor boards, new seat, exhaust, and engine mounts. But hey its a jeep at heart!
That 2 ton comment was a joke I have hauled numerous single tons in my truck and my BIL Chevy Silverdo 1500 (dressed the same as my truck/ 4x4, crew cab, etc).
dexter , it dosent even look like its squatting !. but dont half tons have more load capacity than half ton as 3/4 have more then 3/4? i mean a ranger is like 600lbs a 150 has to be more than 1k pounds?
Got some new for you? 1,000 lbs is a half ton? But yes, you are correct. Manuf go under what the max limits are, for everything. Almost everything engineered today is to exceed by at least double.
I have just a few pcs. of cherry slabs that I hauled in 2 years ago, couldn't find any close last year. For the prior 3 or 4 years I bought several loads of mostly sugar maple slabs. I always liked them for a nice quick hot fire when I got home from work about 6 to burn till bedtime.
For probably the first time, I am actually legit. Whatever you get stacked in a short bed and 1 1/3 cord on a 6K trailer axle with working brakes.
