The tree had been topped hard years ago and a roots destroying driveway install. Hard life of a city tree
One more trailer load of bigger logs. Trailer is only a 7k car hauler. I did upgrade to all tires being st225/75r15. After the last load I noticed one tire was very cracked and deformed under load. Somehow 2 st205/75r15 ended up on the trailer. 1800# tire capacity did not give me the safety factor I wanted. Total tire capacity is now about 9800#. I hate side wall deflection. Trailer frame is 5" c channel and the same as 10k trailers. Axles, springs and coupler are not rated for more than 7k.
I've used Goodyear Duratrac's on my Tundra for years, mostly ones load rated E. This last set I found for crazy cheap w/ very low miles (used) and they're not E. Very big difference and I'm not a fan. They get it done but fully loaded there's much more bulge.
I just had 2 River Birches cut down last year, they are the dirtiest trees on planet earth. They drop seed pods, leaves, branches year round. We still have 2 left if ya wanna come over and take a look! I believe they are decent burning trees, but I am a pellet guy, so I really don't know!
The only time i scored some it was felled around Memorial day and the wood was starting to punk when i grabbed the first load a couple months later. I was amazed at how light it was when dried. Mystree Birch? Need ID.
Different kind of load... My BIL works at the company next door, helped me get the contact with guy over the tote area. Said I could get 2 at a time, next pick up is Thursday morning...
A few loads we hauled recently... Load of junk wood, dead pine tree and PO vines Load of small oak and maple Got 3 leftover logs from a tree service job...had to buck in to, to load.
The stuff from the first cut was on the gnarly side as i split some of it today. Finished a half cord of cherry from February. The second cut had some nice rounds and based on the way they sectioned with the Isocore, some nice splits will come from them. Most will be for bundle wood.
