Yikes! Glad you (and the wood) are okay. had a similar accident years back when a lady tried to pass me on the right like that. I was pizzed as cop couldnt determine fault. $1200 in damage, got the check and cashed it. Handed in the lease two years later expecting to have to pay then. Ford dealer never caught it.
It’s a good thing whoever was shooting at you for taking that nice red oak was a bad shot and only double tapped the sign above your cab
Yesterday I Got the stepson to help me break down pretty much all the rest of the hackberry rounds I had. Still about 4 left that need some cutting and will probably mostly end up in a shorts & uglies tote. Completely filled one of those yesterday plus the pickup load. Weather was beautiful for making firewood all weekend.
Love to see a truck be used Appears you were able to dump the trailer when you got home if I’m looking at the trailer correctly? A very proper load indeed!
Good eye, yes, it is a dump...it didn't get unloaded until today, they backed it into the woodshed (the old corncrib in the background of the pic) and stacked right off the back of the trailer, raising the bed to keep splits coming to the back. That trailer is actually the back half of an old duece n a half...axles swapped out and a gooseneck added...bed has seen better days at this point, still working with the help of some nylon reinforcement though! That trailer has hauled millions and millions (billions!) of BTU's over the years! Somewhere around 20-25 cords/yr for over 20 years! (edit: out of curiosity I did some back of the napkin math...20MBTU average x 22.5 cords/yr average, x 21 years = almost 9.5 BILLION BTU's! And that's not even close to all its hauled!)
I like that math. That's how I figure it too. My truck has hauled millions of pounds of stuff for me.
