A load of 4+ ft long logs. Loaded by hand with some help from my 13 year old son. We waited until 8:30 pm for the cool temp of 96f. We did skid them a short distance to pull them from the pile of brush they were in. Online calculator estimate is 1231#. I'd say it's a bit low because the calculator doesn't allow decimals for length in ft.
Truck load of wood picked up today. Already cut but it's not oak or hickory. What does everyone think it is. I have an idea but don't want to bias anyone.
That looks like a load of hedge AKA osage orange. You struck gold my friend. None of that around here. Great score!
2 blow downs, one cherry and one locust. Absolute pain, had to carry each round 40 yards up to the driveway. More down there I just ran out of steam between the heat and fighting off the horse flies. Left the wood on the truck for tonight, will unload onto the splitter tomorrow.
Forgot to get a picture of the new load on the trailer. Here it is stacked on the ground with the last load ready to be worked up this fall and winter. four new 6-7 ft long logs on the right. The truck load of hedge on top of some bucked up oak and ash. The split and stacked rows are 4 ft tall and 30 ft long. About 2 rows 3 ft high and 20 ft long of bucked up wood waiting to be split.
