Views were great while scrounging three beech blowdowns this morning. Based on the turkey calls at the first site, I should have gone turkey hunting instead of firewood hunting!
Its getting better slowly of course. I can use nine fingers to stack and use the hydro. Got PLENTY of splits and rounds to get to yet, but have made a good dent. The area skinning over yet is down to about a 1/4". Thumbprint area tender yet from incision and can only grip very lightly there. Able to use top and rear handle saws. Not fully ready for two handing ax or Isocore. Take it a day at a time which is all i can do of course. Thanks for asking. It was great to put a face to the name as i saw you in the GTG thread in Michigan. Work safely and hoard on!
Mini truck with some elm at work this afternoon. Green Elm logs from the town tree dump that the city maintenance guy loaded into our dump truck maybe a year and a half ago. Bucked them up towards the end of winter. they split pretty decent considering the splitter we was using. Still pretty wet but I think they will be ready for the coming season
Yes red oak. Probably a trailer and half still to get. They were both cut for a new road bout a year ago.
