One load of ash cut and split for a friend. It's his truck. We ended up putting about a 1/3 more in/on after the picture. While I resharpened my chain from a nail strike he kept finding one more piece to split.

Great looking load there. That maple has some nice grain color. My turner friend would love to get his hands on a couple of those rounds.

Thanks Brad. Maybe with more straps we could’ve gone higher. If your friend wanted to come pick them up, I’m sure we could set a couple aside. Absent a firm commitment, the red maple will need to be split and stacked ASAP so it can be burned next year.

No worries. If you were closer maybe. I just gave him a couple sugar maple logs that may have some spalting. He doesnt turn as much as he should. He mounts the log on the lathe from the bark side instead of the end. Comes out real nice.

Sunday in the woods.... :) maybe 1/2 cord of Oak.... Wood have filled the box but it was getting late, I was getting tired and didn't want to have a repeat of last june when I decided to try to amputate fingers in the splitter. Guess I did learn something... :)

Went and got the rest. Pay no attention to the white pine log that has been living on the trailer for 16 months.

I haven't touched the load of Birch and spruce that a friend loaded onto my car hauler back at the end of spring. I've got to mill up 2 of the spruce logs. But the coil for my mill still hasn't come in yet.
Oh well, at least I have 3/4 a cord of wood waiting on me on that trailer.
I might have enough wood here for the winter. But I don't think I quite do.

Nice load of hardwood on your trailer !

If the firewood goes all the way to the floor of the pickup bed, you have well over 1/2 cord there.
    Looks real nice

Stacked from the floor to the top of the rails. I suppose I could measure the "square" and get a better estimate. I had room for one more row in the box. 18" sticks fit really nice in the box. What was really surprising is how wet the splits were. These were dead standing for at least 3-4 years before we cut them in the spring. The rounds were probably 22-24" in diameter and the centers were really wet. Gonna need all of three years to dry these suckers out.
