Used to own an extended E350 as my work van. I would drag all my crap out of it, and load it to the gills with wood. Like some of you I went through a lot of work to get the wood I could. So much nicer being ahead of the game and able to choose my scrounges. Having the F250 with Tommy Gate does help.

Decided to go out this morning in case the road gets closed. I was going to take a break from scrounging however yesterday's weather report said there is a chance of heavy snow on Saturday. If that happens, the forest service road that is my favorite scrounging area will probably get shut down for the winter (I can still access via snowmobile w/sled). Found some decent silver maple and white birch. The front row is 16" rounds and behind it is all 4' sections. With what I've scrounged this week, it puts me at somewhere around 16.5 cords on hand.

Helping my sister-in-law out by resplitting, hauling, and stacking some more under-roof for her and her girls.

Her Ex never bothered to get this stuff to the shed for the winter. I guess he never planned to be around anyway...

I’m thinking 4 walls made of wood about waist high with a hoop on top or maybe I’ll spring for some clear roof panels.

Good thing you found that propane tank bef0re going to the lumber yard to buy those 2x4s. You wouldn't want that tank rolling around on top of the wood and banging things up...

Osage can get up to 36” dia. if not larger, it all depends on growing conditions.
