After all the rain and ice went to my buddies place to grab some we cut already. Split and loaded. Gotta keep it moving...
Nice looking load of splits Dewittmichiganwood! Whats that white stuff on the ground? Havent seen much of that in these parts!
All oak. Been down over a year. All I had to do was drive there(half hour). The owner loaded the trailer with his tractor. There's about 3 more loads to get. Love it!
Managed to fit a cord of free scrounge in here. Pretty sure it's mostly fir but hard to know. Came out of a ranch that had all kinds of full size logs and bucked rounds. Think the ranch was recently inherited and being cleared out. Was a feeding frenzy of people grabbing wood and lots of shenanigans to see. Fortunately I was able to steer clear of that able to work a pile of logs without too much interference. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk
Load of red oak i cut Friday morning. Not a full PU load. Half hour to cut split and load. Couple more logs at the score to get.
Installed F250 5-leaf rear springs yesterday. Pulled from a junkyard, in the rain in about 7” of standing water. Installed in the rain with rusted bolts finally finished it and it was worth it. Didn’t squat much today with a nice load of oak, sits 1/2” higher and rides about the same empty, and better with a load. About $150 with u bolts and plates.
Hi Mtnbikerfred and a hearty welcome. Nice firewood and wood hauling rig and out buildings. Cool "out of the box" log on the front of the truck, the country and the comely Lass helping! And you are not to far away! What's not to like?
Some great wood gettin pics. Welcome to the FHC Mtnbikerfred . We love pics of anything firewood related...and lots of them
Went and grabbed a load of rounds from my stash. They've (Doug Fir) been sitting since last May. Split up fairly well. Good to go next, next, next fall. Got to plan ahead.
Switched the tires on the little wood trailer to some big floaters. (Had the typical 4" wide 25" tall tires before/ now 12.5" wide 33" tall) What a difference. Doesn't sink in barely at all. Sits level with jeep. Rolls over stumps, dead fall easier. Happy with the switch. This little jeep-trailer setup works very well scrounging around the woods.
Yesterday’s haul. Also got a bunch cut and split. Also loaded up my veteran buddy’s long bed f250 with splits. Today was more cutting and a little splitting, but son wanted to watch the game. Took the wife’s 4Runner out to cruise my friend’s property with her. 400acres, she is having an excavator clean up. Soo many log piles!
