I can finally contribute to this thread again. I have had some construction going on around my house and a Maple, Mulbery and small Ash were taken down. I cut the tops and the main trunks are piled off to the side. I’m not sure if I’ll use them for firewood or slab them. The trailer took me two evenings to fill. Hand split only. My wife helped out too.

I think the 6.7 is really reliable. I serviced the trans on one this week. It was so quiet and smooth in comparison to my truck.

I dont have any experience with the 6.7 either way. It really is amazing how quiet they are in comparison.

It wouldn't seem right to not shut a diesel off at a drive through, I've been doing that for 25 years!

They are loud. I stopped at the local ford dealer to talk to a guy that's a tech there. Was standing within arms reach of a new 6.7 and could barely tell it was running.

Yeah, I was talking to my neighbor in the window of his truck, and didnt even notice his truck was a diesel until he drove away.

It's like comparing my screamer generator to a Honda

I was at a shopping center and this woman parked near me left her cart where she was parked, so it was free to roll into someones vehicle. The instead of driving down the row in the parking lot, she cut across 5 or 6 rows making her own road then ran a stop sign and went into McDonalds. I guess she was having a Big Mac attack. I was headed to Mcdonalds also and I was in the drive through line behind her. Everytime the person working the drive through would talk or she would talk, I would foot brake my truck to make noise so they could not hear each other. I heard them say, "did you say you wanted a Dr. Pepper."

Lol that's great. For a stock engine without even a tune, my turbo is crazy loud from the exhaust and intake. I could definitely drone her out completely

Heading to the store and stopped when I saw them working. Guy on the loader wasn't sure if I could get any so I said I would stop after the store. Guy in the bucket was down and gave the okay. Dropped off groceries and returned, about 1.5 miles from the house. They ended up loading me with the loader. Not a great load, but more than I had this morning.

Cut a PU full of ash today. It was felled by Asplundh few weeks ago. It was down a slight embankment and i had to buck/roll and half some to load it. Not a problem for me. 22" diameter was the largest log. IMG_1103.JPG IMG_1104.JPG

The trailer was loaded with Maple and Mulberry. We dumped it and got everything stacked then pulled forward 40 feet and loaded it again with seasoned Ash for the garage stack.

After the garage was loaded I gathered all the crazy pieces and dumped them at our neighbors house with a big outdoor burner. I don’t fight with the big nasty pieces with knots and limbs coming off of them. Once they are split they are a pain to stack when they are uneven and twisted. Once the pile gets big enough I take them a mile down the road.

Was the maple and mulberry stacked to start seasoning? Looks like you were busy. Good job

Yes sir. The wood is stacked and will be used for the winter 2021/2022. I will also start adding Ash to that stack.
