I have wondered about the pickup bed converted to a trailer setup. I would think it would be heavy. I can muscle around an 8 ft trailer, I'm not sure if I could move a 8 ft trailer with an axle and heavy frame.
To me its the way to go all of your lights are already there and wiring already run. Just whack and tack.
Thank you for the add to the site. I am the biggest Firewood Hoarder in my area. I love cutting a splitting wood. I have a large pile I need to get split and stacked. That Chevrolet M1009 is the best wood vehicle I ever owned. The ability to tow the low trailer is a plus and the saws and cutting equipment can be stored in the cargo area out of the weather. Once again thank you for adding me. I am here to learn. I traded an AK47 assault rifle for a new Stihl saw. I think it was a great trade. I needed a new saw and the rifle was just sitting around doing nothing.
Welcome to your new firewood family, Diesel Log! By the looks of it, you're already off and running!!
Welcome to the club Deisel Log. I used to pass near you on a regular basis on our way to Rausch Creek Offroad Park.
I l my little toyota bed trailer works great. More ground clearance which is perfect for where im cutting now. Pulls great. It is a little heavy but even with 7' bed i can still lift the tongue and move it around with a lil grunt. For 150$ off craigslist with title in hand I can't complain. I love that I can toss wood in it and not worry about dents, dings etc. if it gets really bad i will just weld a flat bed up and go from there. Previous owner rolled it about 10 years ago. Made it over 20 years ago.
This is my humble bit of work for today. A red oak branch that fell into the sheep pasture. Nothing special, just nice to get back into te CSS business again.
