    :picard:

That vehicle is 10x as nice as my daily car and I wouldn't think of doing that.

I need to seek our 01 highlander. NO way I could do that to it.

    Man you need a trailer.

I just can't stand to see that.

I think I was reading that post if I remember right?

If you were closer I seriously would let you use mine. Either my 16ft car hauler or the 4x8 one. I would even deliver so I dont have to see you use your vehicle like that :(

clemsonfor as nice that vehicle is it will be worn out on the exterior before the interior ever falls apart
Dave's up on MDI near the salt air I assume add in the roads in the winter 10-15yrs is pushing a vehicle(inspections are actually stringent for rust)

Vehicles are depreciating assets. Some folk won't abuse their vehicle but it still drops in value, some folks load sticky pine in their backseat and pay for that depreciation ;) to each their own

I agree there is not much different e in value for things like miles but niceness does make a big difference on resale. But a 17 year old suv/car is still that. If a mint one with 150000 miles or a trashed one with 150000 miles have more than $1500 in price I would be surprised. But by trashing that vehicle if you get $700-1000 less on resale there is your trailer right there. And when you buy a new one the resale on old is higher and when you do get the new one you can get wood and not have to load sticky pine in the seats!!

But does the van have a trailer package - which will become a rust chunk hanging off the back that screams this vehicle hauled stuff thus depreciating it's value, and you paid for that in full price because mini ute/ van trailer packages aren't just laying around cheap

I would buy a curt trailer hitch for it. Install it and if that was a worry I would unholy it at sale time and either take wire harness off or tuck it out of sight and that way they dont think you hauled a 32 foot offshore boat to the coast every other weekend with it:D

You guys are forgetting that pine sap is a great restraint for dogs, kids, MIL's, whatever. Who needs seatbelts when you have pine pitch?

    ;)

I hear ya Clem, and I see your point, but...

I am an admitted "full blown cord wood junkie" and seein as there is no FHC 12 step program cuz that would kinda defeat the point of the club;), I couldn't pass it up.

Besides, free on the side of the road wood doesn't happen very often or last very long round here, so bein a FBCWJ, I couldna driven home with the shakes I had and gotten the trailer ifin I had a trailer, and by the time I got back to the wood it likely woulda been gone and then I wouldn't be able to sleep at night:hair:.

Also, the car is an 04 cheap piece of Saturn and I'm gonna drive it into the ground:cool:. It has been worn and torn upon by two teenage drivers:rootintootin:, 11 Maine winters:shiver:, and a buncha back country road miles:bug:. It's got more rattles than a case of spray painto_O, more squeaks than an ungreased wheel:jaw:, reeks of hound dogs that have been runnin through a swamp:fart:, and shakes worse than me passin free wood on the side of the road if I get it over 60:hair:, so I am not phased by a little bita bark and pitch in the back:wacky:

Axle, tires, rims, springs, suspension bushings, brakes, and interior. It is almost certainly over the gross limit for the vehicle.

On a more serious note, it's vitally important that no pieces of wood could jump forward if you hit something or get hit. When I do racing events with my street car, priority 1 is removing all loose articles from the car - get into the brake pedal properly and they become dangerous projectiles, even when you have a helmet on.
