You guys need to get a truck! Once you do, you won't be without one.

Yep. Like Joe diffie said: you could set my truck on fire and roll it down a hill, and I still wouldn't trade it for a coupe de ville :D

It's not in the car yet, but I just went over and put almost a tank of gas through the MS044. That was fun.

I'll bring at least some of it home tomorrow.

Ford Escape. I can go real crazy and fold the back seats down to put more in.:D

I buy cord wood. I have NG too and burn just over a cord a year to supplement heat. My stove is not too big, so wood usage is reasonable. I score what I can get from power line clearing on the side of the road, friends and neighbors or where ever else. I am bringing home lumber cut-offs from work to burn in this mild weather. Every little bit adds up.

That picture of the sugar maple rounds is from my parents neighbors house. I looked at that tree everyday growing up, so a few chunks will be put up for a nice woodworking project to remind me of the greatest neighbors I had growing up. Real salt of the earth folks they were. They had husband and wife sugar maples on their front lawn for years. Great memories.

I wish I could survive hauling wood in a family sedan. Hard to haul 6-8 cord per year in one.

I'm jealous of these quarter mile scrounges. Car or whatever! Hell, I've drug countless loads from further in the woods than that...and then still had to load it in the truck and trailer, pull it home 20 miles and then handle it 2 or 3 more times even before it gets burned!

Anyone remember the guy from the other site that strapped small logs to his bike? I think he scrounged wood from downed branches in park near his home. He had some great pics.

I feel your pain bocefus. We used to pull 100 mile loads. It's not the best way to build a hoard that's for sure.

Jon1270 put it quite well - My quad trailer probably hauls about the same as most of these hatch backs. Several times I've used the quad and trailer to run down the road a piece to a neighbors place when Ole blue had a dead battery or back before the new shoes.

Lmao. I didn't haul the entire 5 cords but must of hauled at least 2 cords. I got a few cords from a friend that has a pick up that we cut a few trees on his property. I think I would of needed shocks if I hauled 5 cords ;)

Yeah my rear shocks have long since needed work. And on the short haul, all of those pictures are from me moving rounds from my backyard to my porch, which is about 200 feet.:D

I left about twice that much behind. It's tempting to go after more of it, but storage space is very tight right now.

I imagine if you don't load directly on top it'd be fine. Let the rounds sit on the floor and the cover at the same time

I've had sit wood in a trailblazer and it didn't hurt the little trapdoor in the back
