    Everyone confuses being a loner for shyness. While I can be shy amongst people that are talking about things I know nothing about, and have zero ability to small talk, I am not generally "shy" in speaking my mind, or speaking up on a topic I know about, or asking questions when someone gives me an opening. I must admit I was having a good day and actually recognized some of those openings people gave me - most days I don't. Helps to that I "knew" people that were there too.
