Got most of the walnut/cherry/pine split from the G2G, and about half of the sugar maple. Worked on it for another hour tonight. Piles are about 4' high and go back there a ways. Still have the trunk to do on the sugar maple. Pile on the left is sugar maple with a little oak, on the right is mostly walnut with some cherry and pine. That pile goes back behind the overhanging branches a good ways that you can't see in the pic. But I'm getting there.....
Looking good ! When you get caught up looks like you'll need to mow grass. Summers seem to be when when you never get truly "caught up",
Next G2G you should have splitting contests and stacking contests instead of dropping trees. that way it would all be done for you.
Got a little more done today but got rained out. Monday I will be getting my carport so I will spend this weekend clearing a spot for it.
That's funny , grass needs mowing to but I have been wanting to get some of this crap cut back so, I said screw the grass I'm doing this today
You should be able to cut that grass over the weekend before more rain moves in. Today has been mostly wet but not much fell. It was more like drizzle here and cool too. Saturday and Sunday look to be great.
Yes. Should be a good weekend for most of us weather wise. I don't know why, but when I read your post quick I thought you said you were getting your carpet and would be making a room for it. ? Maybe reading a bit too fast?
Got the yard mowed last night, wow it was thick and tall in spots. I have a John Deere 777 and it bogged down in places. Tonight I got three more loads of the sugar maple split. Loaded it in the ranger with the side rails, that makes for good loads. The sugar maple was tough with a fiskars when fresh cut but tonight I decided to try it so I wouldn't have to roll them to the splitter and I wanted the workout. They actually split good with the fiskars. I didn't have my phone on me so no pics. But getting closer to having it done. I think once I have this all split and the carport installed I'll hold off on gathering for a while. I should have 15+ cord when this stuff is done.
Good getting it done I didn't want a work out but did a little splittin by hand today We will be waiting for pics of that carport
