Yes, and limb wood in general is more dense than wood from the trunk...

I started filling an ibc cage with chunks and uglies to tidy up the yard a bit. The cage is good for it imo.

Looks very neat there Matt. Never have used one, maybe one of these years.

Yep, can't stand waste either, so, I keep 'em and burn 'em myself plus I try to sell or give away what I can. I store them in Tote wire cages.

I'm going to do that too, I might put some wire on the inside to keep smaller pieces from falling out.

Its been my experience when splitting crotch pieces, I tend to look at it after a few of whacks and decide "thats good enough. It'll fit through stove door." So the crotch ends up being the fattest piece to go in the stove.

Yep some of those pieces the only criteria is fitting through the stove door. If it won’t do that and it won’t split easy time to break out the chainsaw.

Working on emptying a chunky bin now... I try to use 3 totes worth every 2 or 3 weeks. Usually stuff the stove with them on colder mornings when I am the only one home. I have 2 outside pallet bins that I rotate year to year. Fill one up, let them dry, use the dry bin, etc.
