I love mine great for spring/summer/fall wear. First day at work safety had to check them to make sure they were hardtoe.

Isnt 6.5 considered a boys shoe size?
Every logger I have worn was heavy as all get out!!! I had a pair of chippewa loggers, they were comfy for loggers. My red wing loggers may as well had cinder blocks on my feet.

The logger style heels hurt my knee too bad for me to wear them. They hold a lot of dirt and mud also, so when I am not thinking and wear them into the house, the wife throws a fit about the trail I leave! And I have to admit, she scares me!!! LOL.

I get $125 a year, I usually find some redwings new in box on C/L or Ebay for a little over that, than I get the toes Line-Ex'd for $20, other wise I wear the toes down to steel in no time

I see Amazon has do it yourself bed liner kits. Does this work well on boots? I have never thought to try it!

logger boots make my back hurt if I wear them all day. And its not cause I am old or fat. When I was right out of school in the woods all day long at 23 this is when it hurt them. I was pretty trim then too since I was outside pretty much all day working.

Hey, whats wrong with old and fat?, LOL I agree though, my knee got banged up playing football after school many years ago, so it reminds me from time to time that my mother was smarter than I thought! Every thing she warned me about doing when I was a kid has come back to haunt me! At 51 years old, I should of listened all those years ago LOL.

I ought to buy a new pair every year and sell them NIB on ebay like those guys selling the redwings. You know their company bought those boots and they do the same wear them for 2 years and get one every year and sell the new pair.

    Probably.

As far as heels on loggers go they bother my lower back but a good insole remedied that.

Redwing sells a kit to do it and they will do it for you if you don't want to mess with it.

Really? Never heard of this. I'll be checking this out! Thanks... I love my Redwings they usually last me about 1 year, soles and leather is wornout by then. I tried to resole the last round, wont be doing that again. The leather is just stretched too much. But they are the only things that last me this long.

Have you tried oiling them regularly? That really helps the leather to "stay alive" Ive found that mine last a lot longer since Ive started doing that. Check in with redwing and talk to them about cleaning and oiling the boots.

Sweet! Around here I can't find anyone to resole workboots for less than $80! That's halfway to a new pair of my Carolina USA loggers!

Yep, it's called "Toe Armor" and it works pretty good. The kit is about 10 bucks and they say works best on new leather. You end up with enough to do 2 pairs of boots easily. Probably not as good as the Linex! I may look into that... :binoculars: (thinking of stuff to Linex)

The people in canada put tuff toe or something like that on theirs. One guy used hockey skate repair stuff on the toes. He said it would last longer than the rest of the boot.

I like Rocky steel toe as well. I am on my first pair and have had them a little over a year. They seem to be holding up pretty well and are remaining waterproof so far.
