I hunt Partridge, snow shoe hare and Phesants. Found I didn't care for the flavor of the Wood Cocks tiny breast so stopped shooting them unless with some one that likes them. Used to jump shoot ducks off beaver ponds till they came up with the points system mid 1970's Had forgot about my Remington 870 20 ga. slugger. Al
Believe it or not, it's not too bad. I have an OpSol mini-clip in my Shockwave for use with the Aguila mini-shells. Gives me an 8+1 capacity. The mini's are pricey but a lot of fun. The full house 2-3/4 buck or slug loads will make you hang on, but still controllable. I haven't tried 3", don't want to unless it's the only thing left in the pouch. The birdshead grip helps with perceived recoil, unless you bring it up to eye level. Low base wouldn't be a problem though. It's more fun than you'd think, and not as nasty as you'd expect. But remove the strap. The strap sucks.
The owner of the gun shop I go to bought one and showed me a video of him shooting it one handed using some shells he sells that are not high power. it didn't kick very much at all. He put a wrist brace on his. it looks good on there.
Nice old weapons. As I recall the one I shot had a kind of kachunk kachunk reload cycle on it. A real game changer in it's time though!
I finally got to shot my shockwave. I was shooting 2 3/4" #8. The recoil is not bad at all. My great Uncle is scared of it. He won't shoot it. I filled the mag up and emptied it as fast as I could. He thought I was crazy. I have some 3" 5 shot to try in it. It is a lot of fun to shoot. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
Mag or tube? They look like fun. I've been waiting for the mag version. The detachable mag shockwaves have just hit lgs here. It will be cheaper when they hit the larger stores like Cabela's. Try some clay shooting with it!
Tube, the mag version was not available when I got mine. The mag idea is cool, they actually had mag fed shot guns in the 60's, but with the shockwave it makes the gun bigger. One reason I like the shockwave is because of its size. I think I would prefer a regular stock with the mag. I don't have a place to shoot clay birds. I wish I did. My great uncle said I was shooting too close with it. He thinks shotguns are for shooting turkeys. So I backed up to 30 yards and it did put some shot on my little piece of card board. I'm going to get a big piece of cardboard and try it and see what kind of pattern it has. I probably need a refrigerator box It is a blast to shoot, one of my favorite guns to shoot.
Got some Blue and Green wing Teal today with the Benelli. They love flooded corn. Sent from my SM-S320VL using Tapatalk
