This is another PSA for all my two wheel friends. Shinko tires... this is happening more and more frequently. This customer had this tire mounted last year and it has severe dry cracking the whole way around the bead. Manufactured 38 week of ‘17.
Just curious...what's your preferred method for balancing? I just had a new set of Michelin Pilots mounted, not by my regular guy as he's laid up. The new place uses beads.
I use beads in my bikes and have 2 of my 3 riding buddies using them too. A careful mechanic can simply transfer them to your new tire with very little loss. They work fine. I’ve had zero issues up to.. well let’s just say beyond triple digits.
Took this picture before parging the wall - can you see the outline of my bagger there? To me, the windshield/fairing is very clear. There is a bit of overlap because obviously I don't park the bike in the exact same location and there are two windshield/fairing outlines. Hmm, now that I think of it, that first outline (furthest to the left) might be from my old SG, and then the one further back is from my current SG.
Counting down the days guys. Heading out to Seattle and then north on my o'le thumper GS. Just before the US/CA border I will depart pavement for some interesting east bound xcountry travel across part of our nation I have yet to experience. Couldn't be happier by doing it on a bike. This is a continuation of a route that I started last summer. The initial leg last year was pavement out to Sheridan Wy. and xcountry back home from there. 2600+ miles on a 250 Kaw. Super Sherpa. Beauty country we have here. Thought you guys might find this adventure interesting! Now back to my previously scheduled day of changing tires, oil, filters yada yada yada! Any questions fire away. I can provide route links if anyone is curious. On a side note I fully intend to make a stop in Walla Walla. Some of you FHC fella's likely know what resides there

The single sided swing arm wheel requires a special adaptor to be balanced using machines, I believe your R1200c is the same way?
Overnight trip to WV with my wife. Day one: Front row parking for the Duc. Motorcycle friendly accommodations. And yes, we a little sore. Rt 250 is awesome! I ran it both ways. Saw 2 bald eagles in a field, then about 1/2 mile away 2 were soaring above us. Very cool. Then after bbq, we went on a back road and saw about 100 deer and a small bear.
RT250 is a pretty good bike road from Uhrichsville Ohio, south. North of that it straightens out a lot, and you get into Amish area and sometimes have to wait on them on hills (and dodge road apples! ) Some of 250 has a berm lane for the buggies to travel on, but not all of it. If you ever get over into Ohio, RT 800 is fun too. It runs basically from Canton, through Uhrichsville, down to the Ohio river. Uhrichsville to the river is the good part...and it runs right through Barnesville Ohio, which has a great Pumpkin festival the last weekend in Sept...if you are into festivals... Good to know! Thanks. Now that I have the bike to do longer rides, these areas have become reachable. We hope to do one or two night get-a-ways more frequently. Tomorrow I have rt 33 to 20 south, then rt 15 to 219. 20 and 15 look stellar.
