Prayers to the familys of the fallen and those who were club members with them of the New Hamphire mess. News here in my area of Michigan is way short of details. Al
Is she a version of green? Hard to tell as my eyesight sux and the picture is small. Regardless, she is a nice looking ride!
Gettin ready to put it on c/l. I've seen too much stupid chit on the roads around here that's beyond my control. Call me chicken but I'm skeered of the dumb***k's and their phones. Had about 28 years of enjoyment, bounced one deer off the front wheel/fender but I've never went down. Figured I'd get out before that.
You are not alone in feeling this way. I was literally run off the road by a woman on her phone last year. She never even slowed to see if I was ok. Likely a good thing she didn't...... Also had a oncoming stupid tourist turn across my lane out at Mt Rushmore requiring full lock up. Survived both incidents without lasting effect. Except mentally.
It’s a jungle out there for sure. Laws need to be stiffened on phone use, then enforced. Here’s a few pics I took while visiting one of our favorite wineries in the Finger Lakes NY.
I'd like to see it as expensive and serious penalty wise as a DUI. Leo's should be able to yank a phone immediately from any accident involving property, or physical damage /injuries for use by prosecutors as evidence. To me, a drunk is a drunk, but someone "in sound mind" choosing to look at their phone instead of you-me-us, for 5, 10 seconds just to keep up with Facebook crap is truly criminal, and not just from a bikers standpoint. For me it started about 3 years ago when a couple on a cruiser, riding the 30 mph country back roads, single bike, got hit. That's my preferred riding, then last month a group of riders (USMC vets) not far away from me in New Hampshire got hit. 7 dead. Sorry for this bummer sour note, just as sorry about making this decision. I think it may be part of my "closure" to something I enjoyed. The plan is to turn the bike into a jeep for my open air riding.
No apology needed. They are endangering our lives but, I won't let them ruin something I have a true passion for. Jeep is a great idea. We've owned one for many years. Built to the hilt. Lotta blood, sweat and tears... (well, maybe not tears).
My first vehicle as a CJ 5 with a 304(?) V8. Had another after that along with 2 1st gen Bronco's (289 & a 302) and then a "big" late 80's. Man do I wish I held on to those early Bronco's.
My son and I just completed a 5500 mile romp of Idaho Wyoming and Montana. No speeding tickets which is a first. Idaho has some great motorcycle roads that not too many people know of. One has to sniff em out. Bikes ran great even though we pushed them pretty hard but they are Honda after all. We rode home from cousins Montana cabin 1426 miles in about 30 hours
We credit card camped for the most part (motels) and shot a ton of guns at cuz cabin he is gun nut like we are . The M1 carbine folder his Dad my uncle jumped out of a perfectly good plane in France during WWII with it in his pack worth about 4 grand
Been a while since my dad and I have had this bike running right. Dialed in pretty good now after some carb work. 1975 Honda CB400F
Very cool, that was my very first bike waaay back when. I remember it well, tiny little cylinders. I remember telling my wife, " just think how much money we'll save on gas"
