Went on a little group ride w/ friends. 4 of us rode together for the 230 miles. Ended @ High Rock Md.
Here's a few pics from the parking lot.

Mom and Dad made their once-a-decade trek from KS. They've never seen any of my bikes (2008 Suzuki C50, 2006 Street Glide and now 2011 SG), and they were properly impressed with it when they saw if for the first time on Friday. Yesterday, I had a HOG meeting, so rode to it. Stopped at the hotel where my folks are staying since it was only a couple miles away. Mom wanted a pic of Dad on the bike, so we took pics in the parking lot. Then, they saw me riding for the first time as I led them to my house. I then told Mom she had to get a picture on the bike too.

 

I've been putting some miles on my bike, much more confident, still not ready to hit the interstates.
Several 100 mile plus road trips with a buddy and could've gone more.
I'll stick to the 2 lane highways for now and love the 4 lanes of old U.S. 40 although I need to head south into the twisting hills leading toward Cincinnati to further improve my skillset.

Get on those babies and ride....Longest ride on my 1100 was 520 miles in one day...Was on a mission....

 

Did ~650 miles in one day on my 1984 V65 Sabre...rrrough. Wayne county Ohio to Emerald Isle NC, about 12 hours (the females in the group needed lots of potty stops)

 

Lol...I found when riding with others that it was the guys that had to potty stop....But I got's a strong bladder so was a non issue for me....

 

Headlite reflects some on the inside of the windscreen on my bike, it's a distraction when the dew is heavy.
Anyone else have this?
Any idea of a cure for this?
The idea of removing the windscreen and seeing if I miss it is a consideration.

 

I don't have that issue - don't know if it because of the fairing or since my screen is smoked. Actually, I vaguely remember my C50 having that issue with the aftermarket bug screen I put on it, but I got over the effect pretty quickly. I ride to work and leave before 5 AM, so do a lot of riding in the dark.

Is your windscreen removable where you could try a smoked, or two-toned screen? Hopefully you have a dealer that has demo's you could try out, or a buddy that can help out that way.

 

You could try the bathroom mirror trick. Spray shaving foam all over it, then clean it off...fog free for 4-6 weeks...works like a charm on mirrors. If that doesn't work then they make "fog free" spray for face shields...don't see why it wouldn't help with windshields too.

 

It is a factory installed screen, from BMW. While not "convertable",,I could take it off pretty easy.
I think if I could find a trim piece to place between the the headlight housing and screen it might help,,did that on my old vx1100. I went full hillbilly on that bike and "blacked out" all the chrome on the instrument cluster and turn signals. (I never really cared for that bike and it worked and was easy to undo)..
While I certainly won't commit such a heinous crime against my current bike,( no hillbilly mods!!) I have been looking around for a trim piece.

 

It's not just the fogging,,even when the windscreen is clear I'm getting some reflection from the turn signals and headlite on the inside of the screen..
Perhaps it's something I'll get use to, but again, on the old yamaha, it was a problem..my nite vision isn't as good as it could be,,

 

I get a small amount on my Multi. The high beam indicator is very bright blue and reflects a bit much for my taste. I've thought about putting a small piece of tape over it on the dash but haven't yet. One thing I could recommend is to remove the screen and buy yourself a can of this:

If you are not familiar, you can coat the inside of your screen with many layers to build thickness, then if you do not like it, simply peel it off. I've used it and it's that simple. The thicker you make it, the easier it is to peel off. I coated all the chrome bits on the grill of my truck.
