Here's the Tuono factory I rode right after we got back from the ride. It's quite the beast. With a full exhaust they really sound nice. Something about a v4 with a pipe sounds really nice. I love a nice liquid cooled big bore sporting v twin with full aftermarket exhaust, but those v4's are just extra. Here's the non factory version leftover that I'm eyeing. The regular RR model on the demo tour that the other guy rode. I was not really interested in the rsv4r's they had on the tour. They fit me fine, but no real pillion seat, and the Tuono is way more bike than any non psychotic person needs on the road.
V4 Tuono is one of those top shelf pieces. I agree. If any of us had the ability to *really ride one, we'd already be on a race team. At some point it will beg the question: Who are these being built for?
I'll tell you this, that tuono really made it easy to ride fast, and not just the straights. They corner so easily. I convinced one of my employees to buy a tuono 660 last year. First bike, but he's had dirt bike experience and he's got a brain in his head. That 660 is 105 HP, so it's no slouch.
I would call the sound of a piped V4, at full song, to be viscous, nice… not so much. The one guy I used to ride with had an older Tuono and I rode it when it had carbon wheels . He always wanted a Multi and I figured why not swap bikes for a while. Amazing difference those wheels made. You could transition that bike from side to side, full lean to full lean with very little effort. The only issue I had, lack of wind protection. I always loved Aprilia’s looks. Their welds are artwork.
Soooo. Kathy and i went to the shop to drop off first insurance check for bike repairs. Ends up we might be purchasing a 2025 CVO Road Glide ST. We may trade our bike since parts painted to match wrecked bike would be at least 6 weeks out.
In my world that's 3-4 brand new rides. Tenere 700 - 10k DRZ400sm - 7900 Bonneville Bobber - 14k ZX6R 40th anniversary - 12.6k $44,500
You only live once, can’t take it with you. Enjoy it while you can, tomorrow is never promised. My Ducati as new was 20k, I bought it @ 18k miles for 10k. Zero regrets.
I know people that'll spend 3k on a rifle when they could have gotten 3 pistols and 3 rifles instead. Or a couple and lots of ammo.
